Pacifico Optical was born in 2015 between swims at Bondi Beach, and the brand is infused with the area's relaxed coastal lifestyle. The sunglasses push the boundaries of ‘affordable luxury’, so that all consumers can enjoy the perks of high-quality glasses, without paying premium prices, creating a loyal following in Australia and now beyond.

This strong following is one of the reasons Pacifico Optical is undertaking an equity crowdfund so its loyal customers and all lovers of good sunglasses can join it's next growth phase, potentially making a return on their investment, whilst also getting discounts on sunglasses. Without previous funding and no marketing budget allocated to foreign markets, Pacifico has had great traction to date, selling over 10,000 pairs of sunglasses in 56 countries. Distributing both directly to consumers and via other brands including The Iconic, Huckberry and Amazon, there is major growth potential to expand its customer base quickly and retain them with a current re-purchase rate of 40%.

The company has recently expanded into prescription eyewear which can be claimed under HICAPS. This offers a huge opportunity for the eyewear label with Australia’s ageing population resulting in approximately seven million pairs of prescription glasses being purchased every year.

What is equity crowdfunding?

Equity crowdfunding became accessible to all Australian's over the age of 18 in January 2018. It's a new way to invest that enables broad groups of investors (‘the crowd’) to fund early stage companies in return for equity.
